About This Experience

This is the flagship premium experience — a private guided day that combines the best of what the Sognefjord offers: a rewarding summit hike with extraordinary views, followed by a carefully curated local lunch that reflects the flavours and food culture of Vestland.

The hike follows the Bergefjellet route above Høyanger, climbing to a summit with panoramic views over Norway's longest and deepest fjord. From the top, the Sognefjord stretches in every direction — mountains upon mountains, deep blue water, and the stillness that only comes from being high above the valley.

After descending, your guide takes you to a curated local lunch stop — seasonal produce, local character, and time to sit and take in what you've experienced. It is the full Sognefjord day, designed for guests who want quality and comfort alongside the mountain challenge.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is included in the Panorama Hike & Local Lunch experience?

The experience includes a private guided summit hike with panoramic Sognefjord views and a curated local lunch or tasting stop. All guide fees and safety equipment are included. Transport to Høyanger and personal hiking gear are not included.

How difficult is the hike?

The hike is moderate — similar to our Bergefjellet tour. There is a sustained uphill section to the summit, but the terrain opens up beautifully once you reach the top. Regular walkers comfortable with a steady climb will enjoy it. The full day is approximately 5–6 hours including lunch.

What does the local lunch include?

The lunch features local and regional produce from the Sognefjord area — a curated stop that reflects the flavours and food culture of Vestland. The exact menu varies by season and availability. Dietary requirements can be accommodated — please mention when booking.

Is this experience suitable for non-hikers?

This experience is designed for guests who enjoy a moderate hike as part of a premium day out. If you would prefer a gentler option with more time at the fjord, the Waterfalls & Fjord Village Experience may be a better fit.

Can the experience be customised?

Yes — all our experiences are private and can be adjusted to your group's pace and preferences. If you want a longer hike, a different route, or a particular food focus, just mention it when you enquire and we'll build the day around your group.
